MACARONI MOUNTAIN DONATED TO FOOD PANTRY

(Stafford, TX—December 7, 2006) — You don’t expect to see your doctor’s waiting room stocked from the floor to the ceiling with boxes of macaroni and cheese.  However, that was the scene recently at the Stafford Chiropractic Clinic.  The doctors and staff came up with a creative way to help those in need within the community.  Patients were asked to donate 10 boxes of macaroni and cheese and in turn were given a free exam for new patients or a free chiropractic adjustment for existing patients.  The response was amazing!  They collected a “mountain” of boxes of macaroni and cheese -- over 250 pounds of macaroni!  “During my thirty-seven years of practice in Fort Bend County, I have seen the community prosper and grow; however, I have also realized there are now more individuals and families that need our support and assistance,” said Dr. John Felker of Stafford Chiropractic Clinic.

The mountain of macaroni was donated to the Interfaith Food Pantry of East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry, Inc.   “What a great example of the many ways businesses and organizations within the community can help their neighbors.  East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry is extremely grateful to the Stafford Chiropractic Clinic for their generous donation,” said Diane Clark, Food Pantry Coordinator.

“I appreciate my staff, patients and friends participating in our Macaroni Mountain project and am happy we could make such a significant contribution to the food bank, said Dr. Felker.  With this holiday food drive my patients were able to contribute to give to those less fortunate while receiving something special for themselves – the opportunity of continued good health through Chiropractic care.  I want to thank my staff for helping to organize this event and to express our office’s best wishes for happy holiday season to our patients and the community”.
